A Mailing list is a list of users where you can send emails regarding your questions and problems or any other topic you are interested in. But to send your messages to mailing list like php-install@lists.php.net, first you have to subscribe to it by sending an email to its subscription address like php-install-subscribe@lists.php.net. Then you receive an email to confirm your subscription. Then after confirming the subscription you will be able to send messages to that mailing list. Once you send an email to these mailing lists, your email is sent to every other user on that mailing list. Other users on the list will read your mail and post the reply, then you will also receive those replies as emails.
